My first flight experience with Emmanuelle was too good to be true, so I decided to go back to the “old continent” with her. Another transatlantic flight is just too great to be missed!
This time we start very late. Emmanuelle takes me directly with her, so that I can watch the wonders at the sky. From the cockpit, ha!
First a wonderful sunset and only a little bit later the moon in its full brightness. Its really a miracle to be up there. I had the feeling to be all alone with the moon and the stars (and Emmanuelle, of course). Everything is so quiet, and smooth, and harmonious.
It takes quite a long time before I realise that the sky starts to be brighter. Actually I am so far away with my thoughts, that I am almost a little frightened when Emmanuelle whispers in my ear. “Look, the night is over”, she tells me.
And in the same moment, I see a bit of orange popping up at the horizon. The sunrise!
What a spectacle. To see it from up here and in this silence is an experience of its own. I am so happy! I watch every second.
Far too early, Emmanuelles announces that I need to put on my seat belt. Really? We are already in France again?
When we are landing, I noticed that I haven’t slept all flight long. I am still very excited, but actually also pretty tired. What a journey!
Thank you so much, Emmanuelle. I hope that this is not our last flight together. You’ll be always my very first female pilot…and my very good friend!
